1st Prince Championships, Successful!

The 1st Prince Championships was held on the hard courts of Olivarez Sports Center in Sucat Road Paranaque City last October 2-3, 2010. Tennis players around Metro Manila packed the tennis courts and were excited to be part of the competition.
Joel of Perps Las Pinas, Champion Singles NTRP 4.0-4.5
Singles and Doubles competitions were contested by more than 100 players in four divisions. Singles competitions were grouped in NTRP 3.0-3.5 and NTRP 4.0-4.5 divisions. On the other hand, Doubles competitions were grouped in Max NTRP 6.0 and NTRP 7.5. Singles 3.0-3.5 and 4.0-4.5 were competed in round of 32 while Doubles were competed in round of 16, all in singles elimination format. The elimination rounds were held on the October 2, while the remaining matches up to the finals were held on October 3, the last day of the competition.




Prince, makers of high quality and best tennis rackets, apparels and tennis accessories is the title sponsor of the event. Prince gave away a Tennis bag for each of the Champions of the singles event and Prince Tennis strings for the raffle winners. Dropshots Webstore and Silver Sky Sports were also generous that they sponsored the Tennis balls and gave away Tennis Strings for the Champions, Runners-up and raffle winners as well. In addition, Creative Clicks Commercial Photography is the official photographer of the tournament.

Nanjiru from Perps Las Pinas, Champion Singles NTRP 3.0-3.5
At the end of the tournament, the winners represented various groups from Metro Manila. In singles, for NTRP 3.0-3.5, Nanjiru from Perps Las Pinas emerged as the champion. He beat Dekdek of 56ers Pasig in the finals. Nanjiru won the Champions trophy, a Prince Tennis bag , and a SilverSky Multifilament tennis string. Dekdek on the other hand won the runners-up trophy and a  SilverSky Hypergut tennis string. For NTRP 4.0-4.5, Joel also from Perps Las Pinas, was declared as the champion beating Jai of Shotmakers Paranaque. Joel won the Champions trophy, a Prince Tennis bag , and a SilverSky Multifilament tennis string. Jai on the other hand won the runners-up trophy and a  SilverSky Hypergut tennis string.

For the Doubles competition, for Max NTRP 6.0, Ricky and Andy defeated Tobirama and Puredrive in the finals. Ricky and Andy were regulars of Olivares Sports Center and each received the Championships trophy and Tecnifibre x-one biphase tennis strings. Tobirama and Puredrive who hails from Toro Hills each received the runners-up trophy and SilverSky Tennis Strings.


For Max NTRP 7.5, Bonns Gerald and Dekdek both from 56ers Club Pasig, were declared as champions after defeating Mark and Edison in the finals. Bonns and Dekdek, each received a Championship trophy and Tecnifibre x-one biphase tennis strings while Mark and Edison, regulars of Pinyahan Tennis Court of Quezon City, received the runners-up trophy and SilverSky Tennis Strings each.

The Prince Championships was organized by Philippine Tennis League.
